About Sonia:
Sonia Van Meter is the Managing Partner of Stanford Campaigns, a national Democratic opposition research firm committed to electing Democrats at all levels of government. With no experience in professional politics, Sonia joined Stanford Campaigns in 2009 and quickly found a professional home. She immediately took the helm of the firm’s business operations and steered the operation to more solid financial footing. A decade of experience with sales, brand management, and networking taught her valuable lessons that she brought with her to Stanford Campaigns—keep the client happy, smile no matter what, and always get the money up front.
In 2013, Sonia’s insistence on the up-sell and savvy with the books positioned the company for its merger with Third Coast Research. As the newly minted Managing Partner of Stanford Campaigns, development and client relations became her focus and she continues that work today, bringing the good word of opposition research to democratic campaigns and causes up and down the ballot nationwide. You can also find Sonia speaking at panels and conferences around the country on the merits of opposition research and the challenges and opportunities of small business ownership.
